Is Wilderness Inquiry for You?

group in HawaiiWe know that going on a trip with an organization is a big investment, and if you are unfamiliar with us it is a bit of a risk. We are also interested in making sure that a WI experience is right for you.

We serve such a wide range of people that it defies the typical marketing classifications of singles, seniors, professionals, families, men or women. WI participants vary in age, background, experience, and ability. About 40% of WI participants have a disability. We include just about everyone on our trips; everyone, that is, who has the spirit of adventure.

Are you open to meeting people? Do you enjoy trying things you have never done before? Are you open to new ideas and new ways of approaching life? Do you like being a part of a community of fellow adventurers? If your answer is “yes" to these questions, then WI trips are for you.

Doug Fly FishingWilderness Inquiry is also a good fit if you like being outdoors, enjoy physical activity, and, for most of our trips, can make the adjustment to no cell phones, no plumbing or electricity, and a schedule that is typically dictated by daylight and weather. We choose not to use the words “roughing it,” as we fully believe in bathing, eating well, and sleeping in comfort. On the trail, we just have to do those things differently than we do at home.

Of course, on a WI trip you will experience the beauty and wonder of the natural world, feelings of accomplishment in getting places under your own power, and the joy of making new and often life-long friends.

Do You Have a Disability?

We are totally committed to making the outdoors as accessible as possible for everyone, including people with disabilities. If would like to know more about our inclusive approach, click here.
